Aprovechando que una de mis ilustraciones aparece como cabecera aleatoria en la página oficial de La Leyenda de los Cinco Anillos (L5R) dedico este post al proceso de esa imágen y de paso anuncio que he abierto una tienda online de prints en Imagekind. La iré actualizando conforme pueda.

Además si alguien está interesado en algún original que me lo haga saber.

One of my illustrations appears on the random banner of Legend of the Five Rings official website, so I take this opportunity to show you the process of that image as well as to announce the opening of my online print shop on Imagekind. I will update it with more prints asap.

Besides, if someone is interested on purchasing original artwork let me know.

Bocetos compositivos y de color. Lápiz y color digital.

Compo and color roughs. Pencil and digital color.

El boceto, digital. Posteriormente impreso en A4 y pasado a lápiz con la mesa de luz, sobre papel grueso.

Digital sketch. Then printed on A4 paper and transferred to drawing thick paper using the lightboard and pencil.

El dibujo. Lápiz, acuarelas y algo de gouache, trabajado de forma bastante rápida y caótica para obtener texturas y accidentes interesantes.

Drawing on paper. Pencil, watercolors and some gouache. I worked on it in a quick and chaotic way to obtain interesting textures and lucky accidents.

Finalmente escaneo y pinto encima para sacar detalle, luces, etc. Corel Painter XI (pinchar para ver más grande)

En la web de Legend of the Five Rings han desvelado otra de las cartas que dibujé para ellos, asi que aprovecho para mostrarla, junto con los dos bocetos que presenté. El boceto rechazado me parecía más interesante en términos de luz y color, pero el que finalmente realicé ilustra mejor el concepto que se buscaba, que al fin y al cabo es lo importante, más aún en un formato tan reducido como el de las cartas.

In the Legend of the Five Rings website you can find another preview of one of the cards I drew for them some months ago, so I take this opportunity to show it and both sketches. First sketch, the rejected one, looks more interesting to me in terms of color and lighting, but the one finally did illustrates better the concept, which is the important part, more in this kind of small size reproductions.

Me gustaría montar una página online para vender prints de algunas de mis ilustraciones. Alguien sabe cómo funciona eso? Algún consejo?
I would like to do a online site to sell prints of some of my illustrations. Anyone knows how works that kind of stuff? Any advice?

Los tres últimos dias estoy teniendo montones de visitas en el blog! El caso es que ando mal de tiempo, afrontando varios proyectos y encargos a la vez, y puede que eso influya en mi capacidad y rapidez para contestar los comentarios.... Bueno, esto era para dejar claro que estoy encantado con tod@s l@s viej@s y nuev@s visitantes. MUCHAS GRACIAS!

Y aprovecho para decir que en la página de Legend of the Five Rings ya hay previews de Harbinger, que será lanzado en breve (este mismo mes). Asi que aprovechando que han mostrado una de las cartas que dibujé hace unos meses para ellos, pues la pongo aqui, junto con parte del proceso.
